Sabudana kesariya kheer | Sago payasam recipe with step by step with videos

Sabudana kheer (Sago payasam) is an easy and tasty dessert recipe from the Indian subcontinent, and sagokheer is prepared especially during fasting festivals. hence it is prepared during the Navaratri festival fasting and even during Shivaratri fasting festival too. sabakki payasam can be prepared in many ways, but this recipe is a simple milk-based kheer.this is one such payasam recipe that can be prepared in minutes yet tastes amazing.

INGREDIENTS OF MAKING SABUDANA KESARIYA KHEER?


  • Sago-1/2bowl
  • Milk-1glass
  • Khoya-1bowl
  • Dry fruit- as per required
  • Sugar-as per taste
  • Cardamom
  • Saffron strands
  • Coconut powder-2 tbsp


HOW TO PREPARE AUTHENTIC SABUDANA KESARIYA KHEER:-


STEP.1
First take 1bowl of sabudana (sago) ,  wash and soak it for 3 to 4 hours, after 3 and 4 hours it will absorb the water and size of pearls will become double.

NOTE:-
If you forget to soaking sabudana (sago) then rinse sabudana and pour the water and begin to cook for 4 to 5 minutes.

Take a pan, add ghee as per required and let it heated up then add dry fruits according to your choice and roast it untill it become golden slightly,

STEP.3
Once the dry fruits are roasted add soaked sabudana (sago)to the pan, mix the sabudana (sago) with the ghee and begin to roast on a low flame for 4 to 5 minute then add 1 glass of milk and bring it boil and stir sabudana continually so that it don't  stick and become lumpy.

STEP.4
When the milk is boiled, add saffron strands (can skip this step), add 2 tbsp of coconut powder, add 1 bowl of khoya(mawa) (you can use condensed milk instead of khoya), add cardamom saute it gently and summer it over low to medium flame.

STEP.5
On this moment add sugar as per taste and gently mix it until the sugar crystal are dissolved completely, summer the kheer(payasam) over low to medium flame until the  pearls cooked well and softened gently.

STEP.6
When the pearls are cooked and turns transparent gently then switched off the flame, transfer it to the bowl.

GARNISHING SUGGESTION:-


Once sabudana kheer(sago payasam) is cooked, garnished it with pistachio and almonds.

Sabudana kheer is the delicious dessert which we can prepared it with in 20 to 25 minutes. We can serve this delicious kheer hot and cool as well.
